First of all I have been without internet for 3 weeks. It was terrible, but I survived and probably got lots more done in the last 3 weeks than I would have otherwise.
We signed the papers on Daves 34th birthday. Happy birthday you just got a 300,000 dollar present that will cost us double that by the time we pay it off. I think his birthdays are covered no until he is 64.
We finally moved in on Saturday the 22nd of Nov. After a very insane 2 weeks of driving between houses, painting, overseeing a heater repairman, the carpet cleaners, the well project, and cleaning. We were exhausted and excited to get into our new home. We were blessed to get everything ready to go by that weekend of the move date. We almost didn't have any water because the well pump needed to be replaced. And I could have followed Kashanns lead but the Wendys was more than 10 miles away. Now after nearly 3 weeks we are starting to feel pretty well established but we still have a lot more work ahead of us. Dave's honey-do list has never been longer. But we are just so happy with our new home.
We found an old map when we were unpacking that was of our area. We looked on the map and the small community in which we lived was circled. We remembered back to nearly 4 years ago after we moved here and we would drive out in the country and look at the different towns/communities. This one community we loved because every house has atleast 1 acre of land and it is not to far from Dave's work and just a lovely area, especially in the spring when everything is green. So here we are exactly where we dreamed but never thought it would happen in California. We were truly blessed of the Lord.
The kids have done well with the transition. So far they are excited to change wards, schools, and friends. They love the country and couldn't resist a
romp in the mud on our first week here.
They enjoy talking about all the land and dream of animals and adventures. We had our first adventure within the first week. We were out digging holes for plants and Jake and Ari were in one section and suddenly Ari started screaming and next thing I know Jacob is screaming too. I go to help them and a wasp flies out of Jake's shirt. We bring them inside and end up having 5 more wasps in the house that must have been in their clothes. Luckily they both ended up with 4 or so bites. 3 cans of wasp spray later I think we have tackled the problem.
One more funny thing. As we were packing up at the old house I asked the boys to grab all their stuff that they wanted to bring to the new house from the back yard like the bikes and sand toys. Next thing I know there is a bucket in the garage with this....
All of the rocks they have collected anytime we will let them and sticks. If you doubt their love of sticks remind yourself of this post.
