Reminding me to laugh

Kids just know how to make you laugh. As of late it has been my 6 year old Jake who never stops pondering the questions of life. Here are some insights into his brain I suppose.
After receiving a birthday invitation for a Sunday birthday party he was telling his brother about how he would not be able to go. (I guess the Sunday and FHE lessons are sinking in) "Come on Tom I can't go to the party on Sunday. What is more important a birthday party or Eternal life?"
Then a few minutes later Jake asks "Mom what is Eternal life anyway?"
This week also as he was discussing school summer vacation and how excited he was for it. Then he said "How come we don't have a church vacation mom?"
Lastly today he came and told me he had something figured out. After he had touched something dirty like the dog or his mouth or who knows 3 times then he would wash his mouth out with soap to remind himself to keep his hands clean while emptying the dishwasher.
So thanks Jake for making me laugh. I definitely need some humor to get through each day.

He is so unusual! I think Jacob is a wonderful boy. You are so lucky. I love it when kids are thinking about the stuff you are teaching them. BTW, when were you going to tell me that you had a blog? Savannah came home from school and told me that she found yours during her computer time.

So I have finally been discovered. Now I will live with the constant pressure of whether my blog is as funny or witty as yours- Kashann.

Speedy Gonzales and the Black Stretchy Pants

Tues April 6 started as any other day. We woke up and went to a doctors appointment for the girls. That afternoon when I got home I was starving. I ate way too much and then soon got a headache that I blamed on the chocolate dessert that I ate. After resting for a while the phone rang and it was a neighbor who started off the phone call saying "I was hoping that you wouldn't answer because you would be at the hospital. I laughed at her and said no way I have at least two more weeks left. After the phone call about 6:30 Dave told me our goat had had a baby but had died so we called all the kids out and told them about it and we buried it. Then we had a late dinner and put the kids to bed. About 5 minutes later I had a contraction. I thought weird and Dave told me it was just goat sympathy pains. So as I had a few more sporadic contractions I convinced myself that it was just braxton hicks because there was no way that they were "real." I sat down and watched AI ...
