So let me tell you. I am amazed at the differences between my boys and my almost 3 year old. She is spent all afternoon in and out of her room trying on different outfits. She must have changed at least 10 times. Most were very creative and it seemed to keep her busy and happy all afternoon and since this is just a new thing with her I am not tired of it yet. I just think that it is so funny and cute. I am sure I will be singing a different tune next week.
The other thing she loves to do is put on socks and shoes. Don't expect that just because you are wearing one sandal that the other should match in anyway. I mean that would ruin the effect you are going for with the purple and pink sock. Ari first started this fetish by raiding the mismatched sock box(why else was it by the shoes in the laundry room). Now I think she purposely takes apart matched socks and puts them on that way. I guess I at least don't have to match her socks anymore. I really need picture documentation for this one.
I guess that the apple isn't falling very fall from the tree because the word on the street is that I myself had a pretty strong tendency toward the mismatched clothing. I think now that I have reformed and am trying to teach 4 children how to dress themselves. Like Jake "But Mom my shirt and pants match they are both red" Okay I guess that maybe doesn't make a lot of sense to a kid. It is fun to see what combinations they come up with
Jacob(6) the other day came down wearing camo pants and a tie-dye shirt. Normally if we are staying at home that is one battle I chose not to fight. However, we were heading out and when I go out with 4 kids the last thing I want drawing attention is my childrens crazy outfits. Just let it be their crazy antics instead. So he went upstairs and changed the shirt for a Hawaiian one. At that point, I decided to give up or hand-select on for him. And of course being a boy he complains every time he has to change his clothes.
