Back to School time at my house. This year I have 4 in school-Jacob, Thomas, Ari and Lily. That makes for some pretty crazy mornings especially when it comes to packing lunches, doing hair, and finding glasses and shoes. But certainly worth the mad dash to have some moments of peace in this house with Matt, James and me.
Last week school started and Lily went to her first day of Kindergarten. It is hard to believe that she is old enough. She is so small right now. I hope that she has a growth spurt soon. She came home on her second day disappointed because some boy called her smelly. She still is very excited about each day and I am glad that she is having some new experiences and truthfully she has been a bit of a handful lately so a break has been good for both of us.
Ari is 2nd grade this fall. She really took off reading this summer and so we are all grateful that her nystagmus is not affecting her reading much. She is my little sweet heart and goof ball right now.
Thomas is in his last year at the Elementary in 4th grade. Jacob is in 6th. It is crazy now that my boys are getting so big. I have been thinking a lot about the things I wanted my kids to experience and it just hasn't happened. Things like having my children learn to play the piano. We are finally taking lessons but I am not sure how much longer the boys will want to take lessons before they get too busy with other things.
Matt is a fabulous 2 year old. He keeps us on our toes and keeps us laughing at the crazy things he comes up with. I am grateful for the craziness of summer and a house full of kiddos to be past and enjoy the solitude of nap time again. Matt is loving it too. He actually takes naps now again.
James is the best baby ever at 3 months. He sleeps like a champ better than Matt in fact. With his lack of feeding at night, I figured that he would be a skinny little babe but he is chunking up great and is 15 lbs by 3 months. I am not convinced that he will stay such a good sleeper they usually regress with teething but I am grateful that I was blessed with a sleeping babe for now. I truly feel that this is a tender mercy from the Lord. We are squished in our little house in 3 bedrooms and I was worried about school starting again and James waking up Tom and Jake. But it is not even an issue. James is going to a specialist tomorrow to see about some quirkiness with his breathing. We hope that after 3 months we can get some answers. But that is another story for another day.
Dave is in tomato season now-so that means stained green pants, 6 day work weeks, and long hours. It lasts until the first part of Oct and we always survive but I am always grateful when it is over. But if you happen to be in the area and need tomatoes let me know. I could get you a boat load-literally.
I am enjoying canning, sewed bridesmaid jackets for my first and last wedding of a friend, gardening, cleaning and piles of laundry-not looking forward to my kids wearing socks full time again.
I know a picture update would be fabulous but I am having serious problems with uploading and I don't want to delay this post by waiting to figure it out. Besides I still have a lot of baby weight to lose.
